Lakhimpur Polytechnic operates under the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam, which functions under the guidance of the Secretary/Commissioner of Higher Education, Assam. The principal is the head of the institute and reports directly to the Director of Technical Education, Assam.
Principal – The overall head of the institution, responsible for academic, administrative, and disciplinary matters.
Academic Administration (Teaching Staff)
Heads of Departments (HODs) – Oversee the academic activities of their respective departments:
HOD, Chemical Engineering
HOD, Civil Engineering
HOD, Mechanical Engineering
Lecturers – Conduct academic teaching and research in their respective fields.
Senior Instructors – Assist lecturers in practical and technical training for students.
Workshop Administration (Technical & Administrative Staff)
Workshop Superintendent –Non-teaching administrative officer in the workshop, responsible for:
Managing all workshop operations and schedules.
Supervising technical training activities.
Overseeing Foremen, Assistant Instructors, Junior Instructors, and Grade IV (MTS) employees.
Foremen – Act as the direct supervisors of workshop staff and Grade IV (MTS) employees. Responsibilities include:
Assisting the Workshop Superintendent in administration.
Preparing and monitoring work schedules for Grade IV (MTS) employees.
Ensuring smooth functioning of workshop training sessions.
Assistant Instructors & Junior Instructors – Conduct hands-on training and teach practical skills to students. They focus on skill development in various engineering trades.
Grade IV Employees (Temporary engagement) – Assist in:
Workshop maintenance and equipment handling.
General duties assigned by Foremen and Workshop Superintendent.
Cleaning, material handling, and workshop logistics.
Office Administration (Non-Teaching Staff)
Head Assistant – The chief administrative officer below the principal, responsible for office management and documentation.
Senior Assistant – Handles academic and financial records, admissions, and student affairs.
Junior Assistant – Supports administrative work and manages student documentation.
Grade IV Employees (MTS – Multi-Tasking Staff) – Assist in office maintenance, campus upkeep, and logistics. Their work schedules are prepared and monitored by Foremen on behalf of the Workshop Superintendent.
