Situated amidst the serene landscapes of Bihpuria, near Letekupukhuri—the sacred birthplace of Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhav Dev—our institute proudly stands as a symbol of growth, learning, and regional pride. Our polytechnic, located in the vibrant cultural belt of Upper Assam, offers Diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical, and Chemical Engineering under the esteemed Directorate of Technical Education, Assam. We are committed to empowering youth from both rural and urban areas through quality industry-relevant education.

Leading with Vision and Innovation

In line with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, our curriculum, developed by the State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam, has embraced emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and Electric Vehicles.

Collaborations with reputed organizations like Tata Technologies, NSDC and Infosys Springboard, and have significantly strengthened our teaching, skilling, and industry connect. These partnerships bring our students closer to real-world applications, preparing them to thrive in competitive, fast-changing industries.

Centre of Excellence: A New Chapter

In a landmark initiative, Tata Technologies, in collaboration with the Government of Assam, is transforming Lakhimpur Polytechnic—alongside select institutions across the state—into a Centre of Excellence (CoE). This transformation includes:

• World-class infrastructure

• Industry 4.0 labs and technologies

• Industry-relevant courseware

• Advanced faculty training
  
  

Once operational, the CoE will serve not just our students, but also act as a hub for local industries, MSMEs, and entrepreneurial development.

Our specialized courses will span:

• Additive Manufacturing (3D printing)

• Electric Vehicle

• Design for Artisans and Handicrafts

• Modern Automotive Maintenance

• Industrial Robotics and Advanced Welding

• Digital Instrumentation, IoT, and more
  
  

This initiative will especially benefit Assam’s traditional sectors—tea processing, food processing, textiles, and handicrafts—by training a skilled, locally rooted workforce.

Curriculum Contributions and Team Excellence

I take personal pride in contributing to the development of the Mechanical Engineering curriculum, alongside a team of experts from Tata Technologies and SCTE. This curriculum merges global standards with local relevance—designed to meet both national goals and regional industry needs.

Our Chemical Engineering curriculum, too, has been revitalized under NEP 2020, with valuable contributions from our dedicated faculty members: Dr. Prerona Gogoi, Sannidhya Sharmah, Aditya Sahu, and Shanku Pratim Borah, co-ordinated by Dipanjali Gogoi (AEI, Guwahati).

Our faculty are not just educators—they are lifelong learners, constantly upgrading their skills to provide the best possible experience to our students.
